What This Blog Is About

Hello internets!

I'm Callighan Bardeslaw, and I play Second Life. It's an amazing game (which may not be the correct term as you can "play" it without having to chase that cake at the end of the maze). But I think of it more as a platform-a virtual world which you can shape and create whatever your wicked imagination fancies.

There's plenty to do in Second Life; there's the multitude of roleplaying niche groups which caters to almost every fantasy from furry to gor, BDSM and whatnot, there's discussion clubs which you can join to discuss all kinds of philosophical or practical issues, there's also the shadier side of things which can lead into all sorts of pleasures of the sensual sort. You can call Second Life whatever you wish, but I call it SL. And SL, is far more interesting and richer than RL.. Real Life, that is.

As a virtual world, the dynamics of SL mirrors that of our own. With the exception of whacky avatars, people live, act, and work in SL as they do in RL. And yes, you read that right.. I said "work". In order to get the best out of SL, you'll need some money. Most of the awesome items in the game such as clothes, guns, armour, weapons, even houses, cars, or spaceships costs money and the in game currency of SL is called Linden Dollars or Lindens, which is abbreviated as L$.

When you start out as a new avatar, you'll have no L$ in your pocket. This means you'll have to earn money to be able to get to the awesomely fun stuff. You shouldn't worry too much as there's a lot of freebie items around such as clothing, animations, textures and all that. But sooner or later, you'll find yourself wanting to taste the better things SL has to offer.

In order to gain L$, generally you have to work. There's a plethora of things you could do in SL such as scripting, crafting/building items or you could do some in-world services such as be a receptionist or assistant for an in game store, be a DJ, or you could choose the Belle de Jour route and use your bodily assets (*wink *wink). But if you're a new person who don't have any skill or knowledge of SL whatsoever, you shouln't be afraid. There's free moneymaking opportunities out there. And this blog is just about that... free moneymaking opportunities in Second Life.

So I invite you all to take a seat and read through my experiences as I share them to you. I'm still learning myself, and I'm sure some of the tips I'll post may not be up to date or agreeable, but please keep in mind that I hope to get you started on earning some juicy L$ and enjoy your Second Life as much as possible.
